Writing Leads Pt.1

Image
Hello! Since we will be writing a feature story for our article, we have to make sure our writing is up to par. Our teacher has us practicing how to write our leads.  Title of Leads: Shut up and Work !  Describe the lead: One line startle    These are the facts: A study at the University of Michigan shatters some myths. The results were announced today. Women have a reputation for gossiping and talking, yet the study found the reputation is undeserved. The study, which required researchers to observe a number of people at work, found that women work both longer and harder than men—that men spend more time goofing off on the job. The study found that the average employed man spends 52 minutes, or 11 percent of each working day, not working: in scheduled coffee breaks, unscheduled rest breaks, at lunch beyond the normal hour and so forth. The average working woman spends only 35 minutes, or 8 percent of her working day, in such scheduled and unscheduled rest breaks. The same study f

When I Will be Taking Photos

Image
Finding a date to take my photos is going to be a little difficult. I plan on taking my photos in end of February because that's when I will be going to the beach. I will have an entire morning to take these photos. I will be at the Hollywood broad walk from 10 am to 2 pm on February 26th, 2022. The area around it is very pretty. The housing matches the beach and February would be a great month to take it.          To take photos with the business owner, an interview will be set to where I can ask questions and take photos of the shop. This is perfect content for the magazine

Second Survey (Housestyle)

Image
Hi there! I decided to do a survey based on house style. This one will be giving my surveyors option on how the house style of my magazine will look.  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdyYE7sZZiIgJbNiPz9IHL3RAqW0vyaq01rbKEzrUE7EaAmcw/viewform?usp=sf_link These are the options:

What I am Using to Create My Magazine

Image
There are plenty of options I can use to edit my magazine. I will be using Canva since I’m most familiar with it. It also makes it pretty simple for me to create a house style and add elements of that in my magazine. I used Canva for my preliminary magazine too. It came out really great so I’m going to continue with that website.  Image received from:  https://www.canva.com/features/teams/

Editing My Magazine

Image
After I take my photos on February 26th. The following week on Monday and Tuesday, I will be working on editing my photos. Just to improve the quality and look that I’m going for. After I’m done with that, on Wednesday March 1st, I plan on putting it into the chosen house style. After I do that, on March 5th, all the notes I got from the interview such as history of restaurant, the owner, the foods, and what they have to offer will be put into paragraph form. This will be apart of the two page spread content. The sub headlines will be related to the theme of beach such as things to do at the beach, bathing suits, beach must haves, etc. That content I will figure out now since I do not need to go to a location for information. Although these are filler topics to place on the cover, it is just as important to make the look fo the magazine come together. When I Will Design My Magazine

Image
I will design my magazine next week (January 17, 2022). I will be creating two magazines with different house style and so will my partner. After we both create two, we will do a survey and see which one is voted for the most. This will help  make our decisions much easier. Having input from the people who will be viewing our magazine is the best kind of input to received. However, we should still be authentic to ourselves and what our view is of our magazine.  Image received from:  https://www.fivesquid.com/151558/design-a-professional-magazine-layout

Selecting Models

Image
In this magazine, there won’t be any human models. We decided to go with this decision because we want the magazine to be focused on the destination, not a girl in a bathing suit. Since I’m doing leisure attractions such as a beach, bike riding, and park, I want the experience to be the main focus.      So the location I will be choosing is the Hollywood beach broad walk. Which is located at 3501 N Broadwalk Hollywood, FL 33019 United States.      There are plenty of shops along the board walk. I’ll choose one of them and do an interview with the owner if they allow it.       I’ll end up taking pictures at the beach and the broad walk. There will be a variety of scenery and that would be great for my blog. Image received from:  https://www.sun-sentinel.com/travel/sfl-hollywood-beach-story.html?outputType=amp

Hi, this is my mood board. I'm going for warm and cool tones. Since my magazine is about beaches, i want blues, creams, whites, and greens.
