Production of a Magazine

The production of a magazine is the process form start to finish of the magazine. It’s starts with Planning, Preparing, Production, Printing, Distribution, Maintaining Editorial Focus, and Technological Advancements. However o will only talk about planning, preparing, and production since wiry magazines are virtual.

To start off apparently everything that they do in the beginning has to do with the end. Souls things such as deadlines for products to be advertised, are decided by the editor and publisher. Then things like stories in the Magazine are planned months or even up to a year in advance. After deciding on a story that came from any of the staff members or Freelance writers, a manuscript is written and given to a magazine in a electronic format. After this that the manuscript goes through an  evaluation of the staff depending on its size to edit it. After the magazine will officially accept or reject the manuscript after the revisions. Now, it enters the copywriting page. This phase is where they check how accurate the information that they have is given to to them. Things such as names, dates, quotes, and statistics are checked thoroughly. If this step is not taken, the reputation of the publication is at risk. Not only does it save the brand against a bad reputation, it saves it against law suits.  Then a copy editor checks for grammatical errors. This also tied together with style of the magazine and how the wording and things of that nature has to match the magazine’s style. If it passes inspections, it’s then given to the Art department. The art department more than likely already chose illustrations to go with the piece. After it’s put together, it will then get sent back to the copy desk for proof reading. Now it is ready for printing!
