Design of a Magazine

     The design of your magazine creates the image you want for it. 

The steps you need to design your magazine are:

1. Nail your concept 

    Make sure you know your purpose, look at other magazines with the same genre, and how to add on. 

2. Identify framework

    Create your boundaries about how many editions you want to release over a certain period of time.

3. Plan the branding and tone voice

    Define the personality of your magazine. Then after you do this, create motifs that matches the brand and tone you’re implementing.  

4. Commission the editorial

    Get editors to make sure everything about your magazine is typed correctly, placed correctly, tilted correctly, etc. they make sure everything matches the theme of your magazine.

5. Promote your publication

    Get into contact with other companies and business that you scouted to support your magazine and allow them to be on their shelves. Send notes, thank you cards, a sneak peek, anything to get them to be interested. 

6. Design it’s online presence

     Establish how people can interact with your magazine on an social media or online platform. 

7. Consider the cover carefully

    Make sure your cover is eye catching but still connects with the theme of the edition and magazine. It needs to tell a story we want to hear about. 

8. Don’t neglect the grid

     This allows for a clean look. The grid helps structure your pages and proportions. 

9.  Develop your graphics

     Make sure your graphics match your story. This is important to keep the flow of the topic.

Reflection on Syllabus

      Hello, I’m back again! I want to explain how I feel about this course so you and I can understand my mindset better.        I’m honestly very confused on a couple of the aspects, which makes me very nervous. As seen in the photo below, this is a great representation of how my mind is as of right now. Aspects such as the format of the posts are confusing me. I’m aware we need a task and an intro, however, that seems to be the bare minimum so I’m going to search if there’s more things to add to each one.       Picking my idea for my magazine also makes me anxious. I don’t think it’s hard to pick an idea but following through is what’s iffy. I want to do an idea that I’m passionate about so I put my best foot forward and my product comes out to be something I’m extremely proud of.
